The cross of Jesus Christ and the gospel of our salvation (Eph 1:13) are our only hope (Gal 6:14) and are of first importance (1 Cor 15:1-4). The gospel is the central message of Christianity and the Bible. Literally all things are related to Jesus and the gospel (Eph 1:10; 1 Cor 2:2). The gospel is not just the first step in the Christian life. Every step is a step deeper into understanding and living out the implications of the holiness of God, our own sinfulness, and the glory of Christ and his cross (Tit 2:11-12; Col 1:6, 23, 2:6-7; Gal 2:14, 3:1-3; Acts 20:32; 1 Cor 1:18; 2 Cor 3:18; 2 Pet 1:9; 1 Jn 2:24). The Christian life is a continual living by trust in God and his promises (Hab 2:14; Rom 1:17; Gal 5:6), and enjoying the God we have been reconciled to (1 Pet 3:18; Ps 16:11, 73:25-26; Hab 3:17-19; John 7:37-38).
As a gospel-centered church, we seek to emphasize the relationship of all things to Jesus Christ and his work on the cross to bring us to God. The gospel changes everything: how we relate to God in prayer and the Bible, authentically interact with our friends and family, work our jobs and schoolwork, serve and love our neighbors, play sports and games, enjoy food and drink, create art, utilize money, think about politics and commerce, and more. We invite you to learn and grow with us as we rejoice in the God of our salvation (Hab 3:18)!
